Founder and CEO

After working over 24 years in the nonprofit sector, I understand how difficult, but ultimately rewarding nonprofit work can be. Our offices are far too small to hold all of the hats we have to wear to see our programs, missions, and organizations through to success. After 10 years as the executive director for the American Academy of Pediatrics – Orange County chapter, I ultimately decided to take my skills and expertise to help other nonprofit organizations reach their goals and achieve their mission. I want to ensure that more organizations are able to develop and communicate their mission and vision to their community; that they can develop projects with measurable goals that align with their mission and lead to measurable and sustainable outcomes; that they have a diverse, committed leadership team that can work together to grow their organization; and, they develop systems to help guide and streamline operations so they can remain successful during growth and transitional periods.

In addition to my career in nonprofits, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara, and a Master’s in Public Health from California State University Long Beach. I also teach public health courses at CSULB to undergraduates. My passion for public health continues, and my enjoyment of encouraging students to work in the public health sector is one of my joys. I also enjoy music, both listening and performing, and occasionally work with local choruses (proud Alto here!) I live with my husband my two sons, and our pets – a dog (Zelda), a guinea pig (Rocky), three hens (Lulu and Liz Lemon, and Peanut Butter), and the occasional litter of foster kittens – in Long Beach, CA, a city I love and have called home for most of my life.
